Maharajji

Maharaji Appears as Hanuman-ji

Then, of course, there was another type of darshan. One day in the early sixties, Babaji came out of his room and he looked like Hanuman. I had heard from so many devotees that Babaji was an incarnation of Hanuman, but Didi and I still had our doubts. The next day, Maharajji asked Didi to scratch his back. She found his body to be so bulky, so big, that she was actually perspiring while trying to reach her hand across his back.

In 1968, Didi did not go to Kainchi during the summer; she was in Allahabad with her mother, so I came alone. It was the day of the June . . .

RAM DASS FROM JUNE 14 WEB CAST

Ram Dass’ latest web cast from June included some very lively questions from the on-line satsang. One satsang member asked Ram Dass if he was enlightened- and here is what he said – “Usually whenever I’m asked that question I immediately answer, “No,” so as to be humble. But I look around and everything is one.  Is that enlightenment?  I look around and I’m in love with everybody.  Is that enlightenment?  I witness my incarnation.  Is that enlightenment?  I’m in love with my guru.  Is that enlightenment?  I see my life as service to God.  Is that enlightenment?  I surrender to God in my daily life.  Is that enlightenment?  I experience peace within.  Is that enlightenment?  I experience compassion for other souls.  Is that enlightenment?  My environment is a projection of my own mind.  Is that enlightenment?

What do I know about enlightenment?  Every day I’m still learning, and I want to keep sharing and learning with people.  But I’m still thinking about enlightenment, so I guess I’m not enlightened.

Love, Serve, Remember was one of the life changing teachings given to Ram Dass by his guru, Neem Karoli Baba.  His message of  'Love Everyone,  Serve Everyone and Remember God' is in and of itself a method or a pathway to the Divine.

The powerful practice of Love Serve Remember later became an expression in the form of a boxed set of 6 LPs of the same name produced by ZBS with Ram Dass in 1973.   Recorded in part at WBAI in New York City and containing phone calls, Ram Dass' reading from the Third Chinese Patriarch of Zen, The Gospel

According to John, the Ramayana, and music. The phone calls were especially moving. His advice to the callers was wonderful, so fresh, as though it were said yesterday.
