BIPOC Satsang: Nature Embraces Us. And We Embrace Nature

As Summer begins to transition to Autumn this month, and the leaves change color, and the days slowly shorten, we are reminded that our world is cyclical by nature. Although it is often forgotten, Human Beings too are part of nature, and thus our lives and how they unfold are inherently seasonal. Our very existence is driven by continual change, whether we like it or not. Our ancestors, the original stewards of the natural world, knew this.

However, colonization has and continues to, systematically disconnect people of color from the environment.

In this call, we will discuss how we can reclaim our Universal right to relationship with nature; and thus relationship with ourselves. How might we look to nature for guidance amidst the chaos of an ever changing world? A world that often forgets the sacredness of Mother Nature herself – continually extracting from her while providing little in return. How might our beautiful, fallible species evolve and let go of modes of existence that no longer serve our planet, and ultimately stitch humanity back into the very fabric of life itself?

The BIPOC Satsang has been formed to help build allyship and agency among people who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color/world majority to foster greater connection, involvement, and representation around the teaching of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba.

For those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color, we invite you to this monthly virtual gathering to discuss unique topics and share your experiences and needs within the LSRF community.
