BIPOC Satsang: Wisdom of the Ancestors With Spring Washam
November 18, 2024 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm PST
In the wake of the US elections, which will seemingly have ripple effects across the globe — especially for those of us who identify as BIPOC — we come together in community to remember the infinite store of wisdom our ancestors are here to provide. For according to Christina Sharpe, it is in the wake of the slave ship that we come into contact with the material and energetic remains of our ancestors. Ancestors, whose remains remain, both materially and energetically, cycling through the ocean of time and space, often unbeknownst to whiteness. And provide an emancipatory third space — a safe house for the fugitive fleeing North — to provide warmth, nourishment, and guidance for those of us in flight toward freedom.
This month we have the pleasure of welcoming author, healer, teacher and podcaster Spring Washam into fellowship. Spring’s teachings and practice center around tapping into the deep well of ancestral knowledge, Buddhist practices, and plant medicine, in order to help awaken the world in togetherness. It is our hope that her work and guidance, especially as it relates to communing with the ancestors and the spirit of Harriet Tubman, will help provide a lantern that illuminates “the path and a leader to bring you back to yourself, back to your power, and back to your people.”
Join us on Monday, November 18th, and 7:30 EST as we seek the path together.
We look forward to seeing you there!
