Women’s Satsang: Befriending the Night – A Journey into Luminous Darkness with Deborah Eden Tull

All light arises from darkness, including insight, creativity, vision, and possibility. As the days darken and the winter solstice approaches, and as we continue to face global uncertainty, darkness offers a unique spiritual invitation. Darkness is not the absence of light, but a vital and restorative expression of nature and consciousness. It is through learning to befriend the night, physically, emotionally, and symbolically, that we stabilize our recognition of the unwavering light within. Darkness offers a radical path to wholeness.
Deborah Eden Tull is a Zen meditation/mindfulness teacher, author, spiritual activist and sustainability educator. She spent seven years as a monastic at a silent Zen Monastery, and has been immersed in sustainable communities for 25 years. Eden’s teaching style is grounded in compassionate awareness, non-duality, mindful inquiry, and an unwavering commitment to personal transformation. She teaches dharma intertwined with post-patriarchal thought and practices, resting upon a lived knowledge of our unity with the more than human world. The Women’s Satsang has been formed to help cultivate heart connection and allyship among people within the Ram Dass Community who identify as women, whether cis gender, non-conforming, or non-binary women. As an autonomous group, our purpose is
- to deepen into the teachings of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba from a female perspective
- to foster connection and mutual empowerment within the Ram Dass Community, and
- bring forward the wisdom of women for the benefit of all beings and the earth.
