Soul Land Music Series Lineup

Join us for a Second Season of Virtual Concerts, Q&A and Community!

Ram Dass with Cello

Music always played an important role in Ram Dass’s life. He thought of music as a portal into what he called ‘Soul Land' - The doorway to Spirit. During this isolating time of fear and uncertainty, it feels fitting that we both honor Ram Dass and provide our community with a source of solace, inspiration, and connection through music.

Over the last few years, Love Serve Remember Foundation (LSRF) has evolved into a fertile ground for creatives to cultivate work inspired by Ram Dass’s teachings. Musicians from a variety of genres and artists have asked to collaborate, using the timeless wisdom of Loving Awareness to enrich their projects.

To honor Ram Dass’s deep connection to music, and to provide our community with a source of solace, inspiration, and connection, we are launching a SECOND SEASON of our virtual music offering - Soul Land Music Series: Songs and Stories Inspired by Ram Dass.

Join us this Spring to connect deeply to some of your favorite artists who have been impacted and inspired by Ram Dass!

Spring 2021 Performance Lineup

FRIDAY, MARCH 19TH

RANDOM RAB // EARTHCRY

Emerging from his own distinct corner of the West Coast electronic music scene, Random Rab offers a powerful and unique contribution to sonic exploration. Often referred to as “The Master of Emotion” his music is patently beautiful and melodic. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, his tracks are organic, uplifting and stand on their own as a distinct genre.

EarthCry is Anthony of Papadosio's secondary musical project, serving as an outlet for his more electronic musical ideas, as well as a place to try experimental genre-mashing, developmental frequency blending, and odd instrument combinations. Staying true to live roots, an EarthCry show can consist of any combination of live instruments, mixing, slicing, looping, and cutting overtop of arrangements that come out differently every time.

Nina Rao learned traditional chants (bhajans) from her grandfather in a village in south India when she nine years old. The chants quietly stayed with her until she rediscovered chanting with Krishna Das in New York in 1996. For many years Nina has been Krishna Das' business manager and accompanies him musically as well. In addition to several record releases, Nina regularly leads kirtan, workshops, and retreats in her hometown of Brooklyn, New York and beyond.

Kripa is a Kirtan (devotional music) group that formed out of the love of Ram Dass, Neem Karoli Baba, Siddhi Ma, and Hanuman and inspired by their central teachings of “Love, Service, Remembrance, and Truth.” As former caregivers of Ram Dass, they are deeply committed to the wide accessibility of Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga, working to lower the barriers of access to contemplative and devotional practices through affordable, free, and donation-based offerings and prison outreach.

Sisters Leah & Chloe and their beloved band, Rising Appalachia, use vocal harmonies, acoustic instruments, and world folk traditions to build a foundation of soul sounds.

Rising Appalachia is a genre-bending force of sound that uses vocal harmony, lyrical prowess and diverse artistic collaborations to defy cultural clichés and ignite a musical revolution…Listen for sister harmonies, world folks traditions, banjos, fiddles, stand up bass, acoustic guitar, and a host of pan-global percussion

The daughter of a jazz pianist, Marti Nikko spent her childhood in nightclubs, absorbing the art and wisdom of many great musicians. Marti met DJ Drez shortly after high school, when they began performing and recording together.
