In this radio interview from 1985, Ram Dass discusses the journey of awakening, how reincarnation is within the dance of forms, dysfunctional societal myths, and much more.
“Reincarnation is within the dance of forms… Some systems focus on reincarnation to help relieve you of your exclusive identification with this incarnation.” – Ram Dass
In this 1985 interview from “The Questline” radio show, Ram Dass explores:
- Enlightenment and the journey of awakening
- Attachment to emptiness
- How reincarnation is within the dance of forms
- Merging the Western lifestyle with the path of Eastern traditions
- Using psychedelic drugs and the rise of cocaine use in the 1980s
- The dying societal myth that more is better and will make us happy
- Fear and suffering
“We’re at a stage now where we are collectively finding out that the myths we were functioning under are not functional. Because the myth was, if you had enough, you would be happy. And we have enough, and we’re not happy. And we are the culture that has the most, really. We in the Western world have the most. And we’re not happy. And so, in a way, that myth is dying. And that’s where one of the major transitions is. Whether it gets violent at that point or just matures in an evolutionary sense, that’s something for all of us to work on, to help it become a smooth evolutionary sense, where people, instead of grabbing for more, start to become more.” – Ram Dass
This was an exceptional interview and I really connected with the instruction and message within.
